Bowtrol Colon Cleanse Review - Does This Kind Of Detox Really Work
Bowtrol's Colon Cleanse Claim:
You have a buildup of waste in your colon that you need to eliminate. This waste can lead to fatigue, disease and weight gain. Use Bowtrol and have more bowel movements. Improve your digestion, improve your health.
First off, I wonder if you need to believe that there are toxins in your body that need to be flushed out. Then you might need to believe that something other than a diet change will do the flushing.
I don’t use colon cleansers, and I have only done one cleanse where I was required to take vitamins with fiber and spirulina and stay away from junk food. I certainly felt better but couldn’t attribute it solely to the cleanse. Chips and candy really do zap your energy. So I wonder if this colon-cleanse business works in a similar way (psychosomatic).
What the Experts Say:
There isn’t a ton of research done on these colon cleansers. One doctor posting on the Mayo Clinic site suggests that your digestive system and bowels eliminate waste as is, without the need for external aids. And thinking about it, I don’t know one conventional doctor who uses the term 'body toxins.'
Others claim that there IS a buildup of toxins in our bodies. To get back in balance we need aids. In comes Bowtrol’s Colon Cleanser.
What the Customers are Saying:
Overall, the reviews show satisfied customers. On one public health forum, the majority give a thumbs up. Some describe their weight loss, and the happiest ones give vivid pictures of what came out of them. Thanks for that.
A few are upset because the product doesn't do what it claims. Basically, the product does nothing. Those with IBS caution against using the colon cleanser because it exacerbates conditions.
One site, Consumer Health Answers, ranks Bowtrol’s product third in their Best Colon Cleansers list. They provide a description of the ingredients - activated charcoal and bentonite clay. Both bind to toxins and the clay absorbs water and acts like a mild laxative.
Another site, Detox Reviews, showcases the negative side of the company as a whole. Check out their review on dealing with shipping costs and returns.
Speak with a trusted doctor. The condition you have might not change with Bowtrol Colon Cleanse. In fact, the doctor on the Mayo Clinic site provides side effects of colon cleansing that include an increased risk of dehydration and increased risk of infection. ‘Natural’ doesn’t mean 100% safe. Customers are mostly satisfied, but each is an individual case.

I have not tried any colon cleansers. Also, I am not convinced that the body has toxins to get rid of by any means besides the digestive system and bowels.
