Chameleon (by Epinoisis) - REVIEW

'Color matters,' say Epinoisis, makers of the Chameleon color processing system for websites.

And in this digital age, as we flick through the internet, it takes quite a lot for a website to stand out.

You may have considered style, content, design - but have you thought much about the color template of your business site or creative blog?

Well the Institute for Color Research thinks you should. 'Research reveals all human beings make a subconscious judgment about a person, environment, or item within 90 seconds of initial viewing and that between 62% and 90% of that assessment is based on color alone.

Not only does color affect and direct the decision making process of your customers or readers, it identifies a company, the product lines and gives strong indications over the quality of the merchandise.

Chameleon lets you experiment with the color scheme of you website in just a few seconds.

Try out the mauve tones, or the blue ones, or perhaps sepia tones for that nostalgia element. Test them on your family and find out what works!

With Chameleon you can change the contrast of a whole page. You can make the colors warmer, or create a whole new color scheme for your site. All with the click of your mouse.

Of course you can do this without Chameleon, but you'll have to spend hours manually processing each image one by one; then modify links, text, tables, background etc.

And when you've done all this you might find it still doesn't look right.

Back to square one.
Chameleon can change the color scheme of your whole website in just seconds so you can try out any new twist that your imagination comes up with.
And this is what you are paying for - no more guesswork, endless flexibility and choice.
Just drag the image control sliders to change the colors to according to your taste. Or, use the Color Transform Gallery for instant results!
Chameleon will process the color of normal text, tables & all other HTML elements as well; then you can check out your real-time preview and save your new version with one click.
So you can start with an initial web design and easily create dozens of variations. You can even give your customers a choice of which website color template they like.

Are they blue people or warm-toned? Is perhaps the image you want to project is that of steely greys with the odd flash of (intriguing) green?

Features of Chameleon include: image processing controls, color shift, saturation, red-blue-green control, grayscale and batch processing.

JPEGs and GIF images are supported and Chameleon is a ultra-fast processing engine - hundreds of images in just seconds.

You can view different versions of the same webpage on Chameleon's website to give you an idea of what the software can do, and you can also download a free demo to try it out - the demo is exactly the same as the paid version except that the links won't work and a grid will be overlaid on all images.
It should give you a pretty good idea of what you're getting though.

The software works with Windows XP/2000/Me/98 and 95 and costs $29.95.

I couldn't find any independent reviews of this software online; nor a returns rate for this product from CBEngine (and independent analytics firm tracking products sold in digital marketplaces).

However the makers Epinoisis software market a number of products on the internet, all designed to enhance individual creativity in the area of sound, music, and computer graphics.

They provide full contact details for support (email, fax, voicemail) and good reviews are available for other products from this company.

For a relatively cheap price you get a quick, easy re-design tool and the features of the product can be readily viewed before purchase so you can be sure of what you are getting.

Check it out.
