GoEmerchant Review: Discount card services for non-profit merchants

I've decided GoEmerchant is the Eagle Scout of the Merchant Services industry.

I've researched a number of merchant service companies and GoEmerchant is the only company I've found that specifically caters to non-profits. Their standard rates are already extremely competitive (internet 1.99% which is 1/3 less than Paypal) What makes them especially appealing for non-profits is that they have a special discount rate and count the American Red Cross among their featured clients.

This company is strictly US based but if you're a non-profit located outside the US, they may be able to refer you to a company with comparable discounts. In addition to receiving high marks for their customer support, GoEmerchant has achieved compliance in Visa USA's reputable Cardholder Security Program. As one of a select group Visa has thoroughly reviewed they can ensure users of the utmost security protection for their cards.

GoEmerchant's strength is in providing complete integration of three separate businesses into one: the ecommerce solution business, the payment gateway or network business and the merchant services business. This translates to greater ease of use and continuity of merchant experience.

Ranked #1 in Ecommerce solutions, GoEmerchant has set up over 20,000 businesses since 1995. Significantly, GoEmerchant has an A+ rating with the BBB. Why is this significant? For two reasons: First, GoEmerchant has been in business for over 15 years so from that perspective maintaining their grade suggests their foundation is rock solid. Also, many Ecommerce solutions pop up overnight these days and they don't even bother with the BBB. GoEmerchant, on the other hand, has chosen to be accountable to the highest degree.

So now we begin to get a picture of a company with a solid foundation, who focuses on ease of use for their merchants and end users, who creates value for all their users and specifically supports the non-profit sector through their policies. I like this company.

In fact GoEmerchant's online reputation is possibly the cleanest I have ever seen! In the past 3 years there has been one complaint as registered on the BBB. The forums are empty. Apparently no one has gotten burned to the degree that they feel compelled to shout it from the roof tops. Usually there's one or two ragers out there but with GoEmerchant? None that I could find! Kinda boring!

On the other hand, if you're like me, you would prefer the company you entrust with your business's financial transactions to have a phenomenally boring/sterling reputation. This is a service that forms the foundation and infrastructure of your financial comings and goings so reliability and consistency are absolutely essential. GoEmerchant delivers yet again!

I think I can speak for all entrepreneurs when I say we have a bit of  a maverick streak... we like to bend the rules or at least play with them. It's tied to our imagination and to our think-out-of-the-box spirit that enables us to risk on our own ideas and follow our own path. Eagle Scouts we are not!! But I'm very pleased there are companies out there like GoEmerchant. It's a dirty job being so clean but someone's gotta do it!
