3D Shopping Cart review - why 3Dcart is the best solution for the Virtually Clueless

If you're totally clueless about building an online store, fear not! Most small business owners are. Entrepreneurs, in general, tend to be social by nature and have a passion for the products we sell. Unless you're selling shopping cart software there's no reason you should be excited about it. So how do you navigate the hairy world of ecommerce as a virtually clueless small business owner on a tight budget, without getting taken to the cleaners?

1. Find the simplest, most straightforward solution:  

you would be surprised to know that great aesthetics don't necessarily determine conversions to sales in the world of online business. Your store doesn't need to look good as much as it needs to be search engine friendly and easy to purchase from. Of course it's ideal to have it all but if you have to choose, make functionality and SEO your top priority. Some of the butt ugliest websites you can imagine pull in boat loads of cash. Ask any internet marketer.

2. Hire your designer wisely: 

See above. Make sure your designer is all about functionality and not just a design dilettante! You want a simple, safe method for your customers to make their purchases. You want clear product descriptions and you want your web store to be Search Engine Optimized so people can find it in the vortex of virtual space!

3.  Have the site designed for easy updates: 

Get your designer to set up your site so you are not dependent on him/her for every little change you make. Once the foundation is in place, make sure there is autonomy built in!

4. Find a solution that will grow with you as your business grows:  

Strike a healthy balance with your budget. Too many shortcuts up front equates to headaches and hours wasted on the back end. Just pick one of the highest rated shopping cart solutions and go for it. If you're not ready for a full on solution yet, keep things simple and stick with Paypal or an equivalent, until you are. 

5. Avoid shopping cart solutions that have proprietary programming language: 

That limits your flexibility when hiring a designer and it also makes their skill "specialized" which equates to a higher hourly and less autonomy for you which adds up $$ wise over time.

First off Easy setup: 3DCart is so user friendly not only do you not need to learn a programming language, you don't even need to know universal code, like HTML and Javascript! They have customizable templates to help you get your store up and running quickly and to easily make adjustments and add-ons where needed. 3DCart is very user friendly for the VC (virtually clueless!)

Secondly, Support: 24/7 tech support by phone, chat or email is a huge selling point for me. I'm amazed that some top shopping carts don't offer this. Being a founding member of the virtually clueless myself, I need to be walked/hand held through all technical fixes. So, for my fellow members of the VC Society, this feature is a must.

Third, Ease of use: the back office is extremely easy to navigate and understand. Categories are clearly defined and the organization is simple and intuitive. You'll be spending a lot of time here, so it's essential that you be able to easily find your way around. 

Fourth, Design: Unlike some competitors who shall remain nameless, 3DCart looks and feels current. Their templates are hip, friendly in appearance and very easy for a shopper to navigate. 

Fifth, Functionality: 3DCart integrates seamlessly with social media and offers great features like a feedback tool, autoresponder, mobile commerce, multiple ship to's and built in UPS and Fedex label printing and of course, SEO.

Sixth, Nice Price: Price wise, 3DCart is highly competitive with their basic package starting at  $19.99/month or the nice price option of $16/month if paid annually. As with their competitors you get a free trial (15 day) to take 3dCart for a test drive. This is an essential part of the process. You can't know a system until you've played around in it for a bit and you'll also have the opportunity to take tech support for a test run in the process. Notice your hold time and how responsive they are to your questions.
