Fun to play with. A family Game. Electronic Banking keeps the struggle of counting out monopoly money away.Cons
The Banking system is a little difficult to use. It gets tiring having to push in the number every time. The game takes a long time to play, so bring a pillow and some food.Verdict
This game has it's ups and downs, but in the end, It's worth the money and time to play. Just don't play too long, or you'll dream of being chased by the monopoly man down boardwalk.(That was not a fun night)
Hasbro's Monopoly Electronic Banking
I recently purchased Monopoly Electronic Banking From walmart.I spent about Twenty-Four Dollars($24) and some odd change.
I'll start with a bit of a back story. I was going "camping" with my dad and little brother because my little brother wanted to go to soe camp out at his school. We decided to buy a game to keep him entertained while there and went with the Monopoly game. We started playing the game and I got into it a little but I thought, and still do think, that it was a bit tedious after a while. Overall, I'd say it's a great game to spend time with family, but it does have it's downfalls too. Monopoly is one of those games that if you don't pay attention to it, things start going missing. I'd say even more so with this game. Aside from the risk of losing the tokens or any of the cards or little houses and hotels. you have to watch out for the cards too. They can get set down and lost easily. I've already lost a card and I've had it for maybe a month.
Now if you're looking for a game to play quickly, I'm sorry to tell you this is not the game for you. This is a game you sit down and play for thirty(30) minutes and up. Hence why it gets tedious and drags along.
On to pricing. Hasbro sells it online at there store for $24.99 plus Shipping and Handling.
Toys R Us on the other hand is where you want to stay away from. Because it's Toys R Us, they've got it for $26.99 and I find that I don't want to spend the extra two bucks just because it's from Toys R Us...Now Target on the other hand has it for $24.79. Thats cheaper than both and I should have gone to Target first.
Now on to something that bugs me a little: The board that is Cut to fold smaller. These are now used in most Monopoly games and they just don't last as well as the Original folding board and the split is an annoyance when playing.
Still this is a great Monopoly set.
Again, Time is an issue for me. I end getting bored after a while because the game just drags on and on and on ect. Now I did a little bit of research and found a review I agree with. This is great since you don't need to have all the money everywhere, but it still takes time to enter in all the payments, etc. Now to be fair, there are only three of us playing at a time and this may make a difference. If there were many people playing, or even a person just being the banker and not playing, it would be better. You are still waiting to have the banker enter in the values and such, so the play time is still slowed down.
There is no real money-counting educational value to the toy since it's just like using an ATM machine, more or less. You do have to do some math when deciding whether to buy a property or upgrade to more houses or hotels."
