Mickey Rourke began his career in comedy in the movie Diner in 1982. While that didn't exactly break new ground it was1986's 9½Weeks and 1987's Angel Heart which showed his acting talent and his willingness to tackle taboo subject matter in his roles brought him to the forefront of stardom.
